“Ignore all the actual data in the article.”
Ignore the city being a complete shite hole, homeless bums everywhere, and an incompetent mayor bringing the city to Detroit levels. You are a moron and deserve the shite of Nola.

I can always rely on inaccurate New Orleans news from the OTs Northshore posters.
Nobody loves to see negative NOLA news like MrLSU and his alters.
You are in total denial. Nola is in a death spiral due to the City’s pro-criminal policies. The police department is understaffed, underfunded, and mismanaged, and the DA is actively tanking criminal prosecutions and letting violent offenders back on the street. It’s only going to get worse, sadly.

And you wonder why Sean Payton bailed...
Maybe a little flag kneeling by the Saints can help slow crime and influence more tourism.
jus sayin

Gotta love the OT.

I work in the CBD numb-nuts and see it with my own eyes.

There was a shooting in broad daylight on a weekday at Poydras and Magazine in July. That’s pretty much always been one of the safest parts of the city. No way I’d let my family members wander around the warehouse district or the quarter right now alone.

No one talks much about just how bad Canal Street has gotten. And the FQ isn’t far behind. Just can’t understand how a city so reliant on tourism lets that happen.

Would you have let them a year ago?
Because murders in the CBD in broad daylight have been a thing for the last few years.
Canal street has been worse than shite for a decade.

Probably some truth to it. It’s hot as balls and most of what’s fun to do in Nola is outdoors.
Yes. Id agree.
People around the country dont realize how much crime goes down in the city. A recent survey, looking for partisan differences in perceptions of crime and safety of cities, showed both pubs and dems believed NYC and Chicago more dangerous than NOLA.
Despite, you know, all statistics showing the opposite.

Saw that this week. Perception vs reality of crime is really skewed.

You can separate it between pre-Covid and post-Covid. Pre-Covid, I would have. Now, no chance.
Destroya’s lockdowns did irreversible damage to the city, in my opinion.

I noticed Canal had become very sketchy in the summer of 2020 when I left my building to grab food one night. It was not like this pre-Covid.

Its not the lockdowns, its the damage done to the NOPD over the past five years.

Only thing worse than a city that smells like piss, is a city that smells like hot piss, I guess…

Yeah, I’ve seen it decline over the years, but it has reached a point that is just unimaginable to me. Maybe it’s just that I’m old enough to have some memory of what it was. A city that allows this to happen is a failed city.

Compare the crime stats from 2017 to 2019 to the stats from 2020 to 2023. They are night and day. The city was becoming safer. Now there is no law and order in New Orleans. The police and the criminal justice system are no longer functioning in New Orleans.

The lockdowns really screwed up the inner city youth in NOLA. We will reap the consequences of her covid hysteria for years to come.

As much as I hate Teedy, that falls on Mitch. When he implemented the hiring freeze on NOPD, he started the downward spiral…….
