It's hilarious. I've been hearing businesses on the radio talking up their "eclipse sales" everyone trying to bank.
Meanwhile, early forecasts are calling for tons of clouds and scattered Tstorms

Correct me if I'm wrong, but to view the, "total solar eclipse" you would need to be in the highlighted path?
For example I'm in Central Illinois, if I want to see it I need to go to Carbondale area correct?

Yes, you need to be in the areas along the path in this map.

Kige!!!! We missed you bro, even though your effort in the Ice Bucket Challenge was subpar.
You're out of your mind. That was the best one out of all of them.

I remember this like yesterday was in 5th grade recess getting ready to go get the shite beat out me for my lunch money and it just got dark but with an outline of light then the whole school just ran outside and stayed outside looking To the eclipse for the next hour or so til it passed then we figured we could milk the eclipse into not doing any work if we kept asking questions about it we was right we got a VHS and everything

I am in the path of totality and I agree... it's gotten out of control
I've been waiting for this when I was a kid, I told myself I would go wherever it is at. Thankfully I live only about an hour outside the path of totality.
I am taking the day off to see it, but I am worried about hurricane evacuation style traffic to get to a place where I can simply view it. And then hurricane evacuation style traffic on the way back.

I'm going to see it hopefully next Monday
As opposed to some other day?
I can sell you some tickets if you want to see it.

I wish I could get that excited about a shadow.
There's lots of things that rarely happen, but I resist the excitement, somehow.
Today is the last day ever that we will refer to as 14 AUG 2017. Very odd day.
Seriously, I'm glad folks can get excited, and have a friend traveling from BR to Nashville next weekend for the shadow. Then again, he will be visiting his son also.

I think the whole "don't look directly at the sun" thing is government nanny state CYA. I mean, that's the whole deal with an eclipse, right? The sun will be covered up! I've got an expensive pair of Ray Bans, and that's what I am going to go with.
It's dangerous to look at the sun. Even on a normal day. The warnings are for people who look at the sun as the eclipse starts to cover it. Once the eclipse is total, you can look at it with the naked eye without the special glasses, which are much different than sunglasses.

Sell viewing glasses for 50 dollars.

Hey Kige you have a flat spot in your yard in Russelville where I can pitch a tent on August 20th?

Local car dealership is having an eclipse sale. And the Sonic has a special Eclipse milkshake and will give you a free pair of eclipse glasses with purchase.
