I’ve never garnished wages and you’re right in that most folks won’t do it. But I had only $100,000 in coverage and am a high-wage earner/ pretty liquid, so those two things would have increased the chances they would have wanted to collect on an excess from me.

Our is through my wife’s employer and covers her and her spouse. Going to depend on policy terms. Ask an independent agent to give you a few quotes on both your auto and an umbrella.

I did the drive safe thing with Safeco where they monitor my driving for a few months and our rates dropped considerably. Just sucked having to monitor by quick braking for those three months lol

We carry about 1.5M. When I lived up north I expanded my coverage because I lived across from a Maserati and exotic car dealer. They’d come out of there blowing 85 that required then driving across three lanes of traffic. Some of those cars values were easy $200k.

The umbrella policies with Geico is $150 for 1M but 2M is $700.

Want to see something absurd? Go get a quote from State Farm for Umbrella coverage. They wanted $850/1M and $1500 for 2M umbrella.

Then where are all the complaints from our Texas friends about having too much jury duty?

Louisiana's jury system is very different from most other states, many of which have ZERO or low jury thresholds. I just refuse to believe Louisiana got this right and the other states are doing it wrong.

This is very, very true, and something I often say. If 49 states do something one way and we go the other, it's not likely we are doing it better than they are!

The one exception I can think of, is Saturday voting. I think voting on a Tuesday is stupid AF. But even that is less important these days with more people doing Early Voting.

Attorneys fees in an offer of judgment would make it finally have teeth and go miles into resolving cases
