Yep. Spent a lot of time there in 2016 - basically lived there for about 4 months. Lots of hideous Kirby Smith style apartment buildings sprinkled across the metro.

Toronto is a poor man’s Chicago.

Soviet style brutalist apartment buildings

This has been the trend in new apartments for a while. Square, 6 to 10 story blocks with some shades of brown paint, and stone on the corners, to make them seem less 1950s USSR.

Went there 4 years ago and I have to disagree with you.
Did you walk around Old Toronto side of town? I thought it was charming those old industrial architectural buildings mixed with modern architecture. Walked to a local neighborhood and had beautiful landscape and parks. We had a great time, food was great. Took a train south on our way to Niagara Falls and we stopped at a nice town called Burlington. The views of the lake and vineyards was breath taking. Went during the summer and the weather was great. However, their winters must be brutal.

I’ll push back on this one. Pittsburgh is a really great place that most would have no idea about. Obviously you haven’t spent any time there.

Soviet style brutalist apartment buildings intermixed with modern glass condo high rises makes for one dystopian looking city. Lots of graffiti everywhere and a surprising amount of litter on the highways. I'm here one day and already miss America.

I tell this to every person when the topic arises.

Video and photos make things look a certain way but they mislead you.

We live in the best possible country ever created and quite honestly it's not close. I wish everyone would stop bitching and realize this.

15 years ago had a stop in Toronto so we went to the CN Tower, highest building in North America.
We walk out an see a banner for former LSU tiger Aaron Hill and to the left a restaurant named Baton Rouge Cajun Cafe.
