I'm in Southern Desoto Parish, the first severe storm has passed with no hail, but it looks like we have two or three more in a line heading this way.

NWS Houston @NWSHouston
First round of storms have been moving through the area. The airmass over SETX is destabilizing and the threat of severe storms starting to increase again over the red highlighted area. A Tornado Watch is in effect.

Everything screams thunderstorms w/ hail right now in ETX.

Which tbh hopefully is extended across the entire south. We need a nothingburger.

who hand draws shite anymore?

There's more of it than one would think. I remember a couple years ago seeing or hearing a discussion about the ongoing use of hand drawn stuff. I don't remember their reasoning.

So... If I wanted to do a little storm chasing.

What would be the best timeframe to find supercells in the southern Mississippi area??
Let’s say around Hattiesburg.

Whatever you do, do not forget to film everything.

Probabilities on that tornado watch:
quote:

Tornadoes

Probability of 2 or more tornadoes - High (90%)
Probability of 1 or more strong (EF2-EF5) tornadoes - High (70%)

Yup there is slot of warm gulf moisture just ready to be picked up by the front and becoming a problem. South LA is not out of the woods by any means.

That red box in central Mississippi seems to be always under the gun as far as tornadoes. Seems like the northern part of MS and the coast doesn’t get nearly as many warnings and watches as that central part of the state
