Folks - the Baton Rouge/New Orleans radar is undergoing critical maintenance and may be intermittently down through Noon CST...

Was this planned maintenance? Surely that could have been put off to another day when severe storms weren’t going to roll through.

That oak in the foreground of the damage picture took a lot of limb damage. It takes significant wind to do that - similar to what Ida did to similar trees.

Why would they follow through with plans to take it down today? Assuming this is planned maintenance and not emergency repairs.
