some storms starting to form south of the long-track supercell headed to Louisville

maybe those storms steal the supercell's energy and it starts to weaken

Pretty strange to have a significant line form behind a strong line like is happening in eastern Arkansas right now isn’t it? I’m no weather expert but I follow it and that’s a bit of a mind frick for me to see

Damn good insight from Reed right here. It's forward motion has likely played a role in the longevity.

I've watched him work radar some lately and he's legit. If he wanted I'm sure he could be a chief just about anywhere he would choose. I was surprised, actually. I'd never really watched him on radar.

I expect more damage because of the rain with trees/branches being water logged.

fricking hell.

This is about to run into to some HUGE helicity.

quote:

However, a cell, now in Henry
County, Tennessee, has emerged ahead of this line and has a
favorable airmass ahead of it. MLCAPE around 1000 to 1200 J/kg and
0-1 km SRH around 300 m2/s2 per OHX VWP suggest strong tornadoes
will be possible. As long as this storm inflow remains unimpeded, it
will likely pose a threat for strong tornadoes.

frick The Weather Channel. There are people dying and other concerned viewers want to know what is going on during this severe weather outbreak, and they are showing some longform programming show about truckers driving through snow.

frick them. They used to be better than that.

Nothing in front of it to slow it down. Gotta hope for something to form and impede that clean inflow, like rt3 mentioned.

His job is storm chasing, not surprised he can work the radar and part of the skill is he's seen like a thousand tornadoes and knows how they behave. I love when he's on the radar though and not just chasing, because you can learn a lot from those insights.

ETA: I'm so cold, even inside. I'm sitting at 0 degrees and hear the fricking wind chimes outside.
