Imagine the average OT heart rate actually being the same as lance armstrong in his prime.

A 42 resting heart rate is not that crazy for a young person in good cardiovascular shape.

70 about 2 hours ago.
Usually mid 60’s when I first open my eyes.
Used to be 48 so I’m working on bringing it back into to 50’s over the next 3-4 months.

A true resting heart rate of 42 is not really a significant indication of heart block if you are a somewhat serious endurance athlete. A mid-day "resting HR down at or below 40 is more of an indication and in the brady range.
Resting HR used to be kinda difficult to get as the closest would be taking your pulse in the bed as soon as you woke up without an alarm. Today with the many fitness trackers it is easy. Armstrong was mentioned earlier, a lot of his physical stats have been mythologized over the years, and hyperbole set in. I remember reading in one of the cycling rags in the early 2000s his RHR was 37. He and George Hincapie had a discussion on this during one of The Move podcasts last year and neither ever remember being under 40.

From my cardiologist roughly 1/3 of all endurance athletes have heart block
So yeh, a low heart rate coupled with high intensity training is a tell tale sign. Tennis, cross country, and swimming was extremely common to pop 1st degree AV block on physical day at LSU

48-52. Run Ultramarathons. And yes...heart is 100% healthy. I've gone through the full cardiovascular workup with a cardiologist.
