Not if you're interest rate is low enough.

I prefer benefits that are measured in dollars, thanks. So I use credit cards and pay less than you would.

No, I can and I will. Just like every other time you've challenged me on anything.

Fix your post so I know you can at least use our language competently.

Could you explain why responsible credit use impedes net worth? It seems to obviously aid net worth in any objective measure when properly utilized

Why not both?

Because it's much easier to get in over your head with a high credit limit than a low one.

Meanwhile a high net worth eliminates the need for both.

Exactly. Not a problem to pay your card monthly if you are responsible and have the cash sitting in your account to pay it off before interest hits. Using credit card debt literally does 0 to your net worth if you are smart enough to not over extend yourself past the cash you have on hand.

Because you don't need credit cards to build up a high credit limit.

So you admit you would lack the discipline to pay the balance each month.

I put everything possible on credit cards and rack up the free flights and hotel stays.

I've used a credit card for 90% or so of purchases for the last 15 years. Never paid any interest. Never lived above my means, always have the cash to use a debit card or hard cash if I want. But I choose to use a credit card for the points.

That said, I don't recommend this for most people because I don't believe most people have the discipline to do this consistently, month after month, year after year, and never mess it up.

Also, I disagree with the idea that my method gives me "free money" with the 1.5% - 5% cash back. It isn't free money, it's my money that I'm being charged by the retailer who pays it to Chase, and Chase refunds a pittance back to me since I'm such a good spender out there making money for them. I would MUCH rather get a cash discount when possible and do when possible. Paying a work crew in cash and saving 5 or 10% is a hell of a lot better than paying full price and getting charged an extra 3.5% CC processing fee on top by the same crew.

ETA:
And it's a drop in the damn bucket either way. I'm not getting rich off my Chase ultimate rewards points or Amazon points. I'm probably coming out behind compared to if I only used cash because I'll readily admit that I likely spend a few extra bucks everywhere I go if I can swipe my card. That adds up all year to more than the 1.5-5% points.
