Edit- it's not possible, I just looked it up and Tacoma's on average are worth about 61% of original value after 5 years, which is #1 amongst all cars. The GMC Canyon holds its value pretty well also.
I think small 4x4 pickups in general do very well. I imagine the diesel Chevrolet pickups are going to hold their value exceptionally well.

What trim do you guys have on Taco? Does the SR5 have enough features?
Posted on 1/8/17 at 5:40 pm to CQQ
I have an SR5, 2013, and it's got everything I'd want.

Tacoma. Will last as long as you want it to and the resale is top notch.

I have an SR. Fewer options as far as interior, colors and bed length. No GPS, and the stereo does not have apps available. It does have blutooth, but no Pandora control other than song skip. Most annoying thing it doesn't have is intermittent wipers.

The Tacoma isn't even close to the Colorado/Canyon as far as quality. Full size is obviously better but lulz at the dipshits who spend 50k on a decked out F-150 just to drive it 5 miles to work everyday. I'd rather put that money to work but I'm a Jew so what do I know?

Have you been in a $30k version of each? The GM wins hands down

It's shiny, but most people know better.

Buy the diesel version. As said above, canyon looks better. Almost like a sierra.
Yeah but the diesel option in GM twins is a whopping $3,700 option over the V6! There's no way you could justify that over cheap gas unless you just tow a lot. I personally think the Tacoma looks better plus the interiors of GM's are typical low rent variety

Even though I went with the Canyon, I prefer the exterior styling of the tacoma.
Resale value was not a consideration for me either way.
A few key factors made me go with the gmc. The interior in the gmc is hands down better. Tacoma seats don't even have a height adjustment. You just sit too low imo. Also, the back seat in the gmc is much more hospitable: more leg room, multiple charging ports, center arm rest. Also, the way the rear seats in the tacoma fold is just stupid. Also, the stereo interface is the Toyota is pretty antiquated compared to the intellilink system.
The gmc also tows more, gets better gas mileage, and has a deeper bed.

Can't fit my Tundra in my garage, don't how much of anything. Pretty much no need for full size truck.

What's the biggest difference between the Canyon and Colorado? GMC always seemed like an old man truck
Posted on 1/8/17 at 8:52 pm to CQQ
I want the Canyon with the 2.8 duramax.

I'd be deathly afraid of putting gas in a diesel engine out of habit, if I ever switched. I've never personally heard of anyone doing it, but it seems like a really easy mistake to make.

I've had friends kids do it. I've had a diesel excursion, I didn't have any issue with that.
I'd love to own a truck that averages 25mpg

All valid points but I'm just not a fan of GM vehicles...Reliability & resale are big factors for me & GM suffers greatly in those areas along with cheap interiors , whereas the Toyota/Lexus suvs I've owned have been outstanding. I too will be looking for a midsize truck to replace my 4Runner.

Come see me, email under my profile, & get the Tacoma.
