Do whatever the hell you want. I personally don't eat a lot of pork because it isn't lean enough, but I keep a pretty boring/clean diet. That being said I love pulled pork, and if someone tried to forbid me from eating it, I might just have it for a month straight.

This problem is as old as religion itself. Only now do people have an outlet to whine about it to strangers to get affirmation.

I'd probably try to avoid the drama and just not eat pork around them. But no, they shouldn't tell you what to do. You're legally an adult. But if they are footing your bill for school or other expenses then good luck telling them that.

This is what I do about religious stuff. My mom can be overly Catholic sometimes and I'm not religious at all. I definitely don't make an effort for things like lent unless I'm eating at their house or going out to eat with them. I'm not going to order a steak on Friday in front of her because it would make her mad.

I'm a firm believer in not making things harder on myself than they need to be when it comes to religious stuff. The shite is weird, but I'm not gonna be a dick about it. I'm certainly not going out of my way to look for trouble.

Yeah, I get it, grew up strict catholic, and I do everything "bass akwards" of my family. My mom almost cried when I ate meat on Friday during lent, because I would certainly go to hell. Yeah, that happened.
