I remember going to the chow hall and this story being in TV, and all my platoon mates asking me wtf is wrong with LSU. Told them it had to be some retard grad student. Lo and behold it was.

4 years ago I was actually in a speech class taught by him at LSU. He was a decent guy, pretty animated, but very critical of speeches. It was pretty hilarious seeing him a year later getting attacked by everyone.
But god damn that soldier was a total douche bag. Who the frick acts like that? He reminds me of the marine in that fender bender video

supposedly that guy wasn't a soldier. I read somewhere that his brother died in that uniform fighting in Afghanistan, so he wore it to the protest

I was just saying what started it all. Just a punk kid getting in trouble and his friends saying "burning a flag is freedom of speech" ignoring the actual crime to spin the situation.
As far as the mob, he brought it upon himself and was looked upon by many as a victim. Which is what he wanted. They took it overboard but he wanted the attention and got it.

His name was Isaac Eslava I think..some wannabe rastafarian socialist piece of shite. He cut down a flag and burned it the day after we killed bin Laden.

He had every right to speak out against it. Right or wrong thats his right of speech. When you go beyond speech and start stealing and destroying property that is not yours you... Your freedom of speech argument does not protect you.
He was from another country as well, Columbia I believe, so that kin of added to the flag burning situation. Too many people think they can do whatever they want and are protected by "freedom of speech". Only thing that frees you from is prosecution by state. You still have to deal with the backlash.
The same people who think this is wrong are okay with Donald sterling and "lots of butter yaaaall" (forgot her name), getting in trouble for saying what they said.
