Good morning. Sounds like you woke up on the controversy side of the bed this morning.
SJA stopped promoting DIE standards a few years ago when they had the militant black lady who told the school that they didn’t know they were racist. The parents absolutely went nuts and she was quietly relieved of her duties.
Yes, they will continue to promote the school as Catholic because that’s what they are. They are accepting of everyone and will not let a boy who says he’s a girl into the school. Even the girls who are gay that go there keep it quiet.
My hope is the new president is more modern than Jan was. I know the school means the world to her, but the younger generation passed her by years ago.
Anyway, those are my thoughts as someone whose family put a great deal of time energy and students through that school. Also, they play for the state basketball championship today at 4 PM.
Go red stickers!

Modern? Just a nice code word for “culture destruction”.

Isn’t everyone your neighbor? Maybe go back and reread the Gospels.

If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn’t have sent my daughter to SJA for those reasons stated in the OP. Education wise, it’s a very good academic school that prepared her well for college. But you can argue the school focuses more on social justice indoctrination than it does the Body of Christ. It’s not a diocesan school so Duka has no say over their curriculum. Our experience at Catholic High was 100 times better.

As an atheist, I will never understand why Christians actively embrace this sick ideology into their churches.
I get why Catholics do it, as part of covering for the whole pedophelia thing they are good at. However, unlike progressives, Christians in church congregations clearly do NOT like/want pedophiles and groomers around their kids. I don't blame them.
But allowing "preachers" like this to infect your congregation is just begging for disaster.
Progressives are not in these spots to make anything better. They are there to do what they do best: DESTROY anything that is good and replace it with vile, destructive filth.

quote:Funny, I feel the exact opposite. We found Catholic High overly focused on discipline at the expense of helping those boys actually learn in class and be ready for college academics (unless you were a good football player, then you got all the support you needed along with lower discipline standards). St. Joseph's was incredibly supportive and prepared my daughter for entrance exams and college waaay better than Catholic did for my son. Also, there were and are openly gay boys at Catholic.

Both of my daughters went to SJA. In my opinion, the school started to go downhill when Sister Judith left or was ousted from the position.

SJA is a good school academically that, unfortunately, is very left-leaning and uses the "social justice" mantra to indoctrinate their students.

WTF?
Sure, I can explain.
As a leftist, I am for gay marriage, abortion, etc.
I am NOT for transitioning kids or promoting men in girls locker rooms.
Progressives, by and large, promote these things and will purposely put their kids, especially their daughters, in these horrible situations as a badge of honor for their ideology.
The Catholic church, which is part of the OP, is a known pedophile protection agency amongst its leadership. I do not know ONE Catholic that supports this nor wants their kids around it. They want these people jailed for their crimes. They don't want them exposed to their kids even more....and more importantly, they do not celebrate them as something to be cherished and adored or you will be canceled.
Hope that clears it up.
I also mentioned how I lost many progressive acquaintances because I don't think men can give birth, etc. If I disagree with a Christian, which I do a lot, they will still be friends with me. Another huge difference.
Christians allowing this element into their churches is only going to lead to further disaster. The intent of these progressives is not good.....it never is.

So? There are openly gay girls at SJA.
LGB isn't the huckleberry that is the issue. It is the tXYZ&%^#@$& that will destroy everything in its path.

Reread what you posted the first time. I think you missed some words

You put "do want" instead of "dont want" in the post to which he responded "WTF?".

Just letting you know, consider editing your first post once you read it again
I don’t think religion has anything to do with it exactly, it’s about a position of power. Teachers, coaches, etc who put themselves around kids, then will prey on those kids who typically don’t have an actively involved parent around
