If a parent takes their child gambling, gives the child marijuana (where legal) or booze, or drives the child around with no seat belt, there is like to be some form of governmental redress against that parent.
Surgically altering your child's natural gender, however, doesn't seem to be a problem.

Considering how hard it is for a woman under 40 to obtain a hysterectomy for even medical reasons, I’d be curious to see the actual data on these actually being performed.
