TopGolf Birmingham opens Friday

"We are so excited to be opening during the holiday season," said Topgolf Birmingham Director of Operations Tyler McCarthy. "Topgolf is a great place to bring family and friends of all ages. With lots of entertainment options throughout the venue, we are ready to welcome the community and create great times for all."
TopGolf is also expecting to break ground on their first Louisiana location off Siegen Lane near I-10 in Baton Rouge during Q1 2018.

We passed the B'ham one on way back from Knoxville. Looks like it would be a good time. I may even go(never played golf in my life) since it'll be very close to us in Baton Rouge.

I also passed it this weekend. Do any bham pepole know why that location was chosen? It'd downtown right by teh BJCC, it just seems like a kinda of odd location to me. Seems like somewhere around hoover or not directly in downtown would have been a better draw but wtf do I know

The location of TopGolf is a part of the BJCC complex expansion/revamp. Of course, incentives were given to TopGolf. The newly coined district name around the BJCC is "Uptown".

Nailed it. I've been working downtown for 5.5 years now. Railroad park was still fairly new when I started. Since then, the new Barons field was completed, tons of new condos, a new entertainment district, and now TopGolf.

Can someone explain the allure of TopGolf? Lots of people here in BHam are stoked for it.

It is my understanding that the greatest allure is that it's a public entertainment venue for adults that will be the last to be over run by culcha. It might actually be safe and fun to visit in 5 years.

Although one of the greatest roadway nicknames of all time, the TopGolf isnt near Malfunction Junction. It's near the 280/31 and 59/20 interchange.
TopGolf driving range faces Norwood/Tallapoosa/Airport right in the flight path of the main runway.
