I don't know or care what metric they used, but there is *literally* no way hoover is the 6th fattest city in america. For one it's relatively affluent which generally leads to less fatties. There's also a massive 3 story rec center that is packed everyday and a bustling youth sports community. There are a lot of young working adults that live there as well after college which again often results in somewhat healthier populations. Go down the interstate a ways to ensley or bessemer where you have lower income communities and I bet anything those places are far fatter.

Just can't seem to understand why COVID hit so hard in Louisiana, especially among a certain demographic. Only explanation has to be "inequity," aka racism, right?

WG I do agree - I feel like they are lumping more than just hoover into it - I suspect they are pulling in Pelham, Alabaster, Chelsea and Leeds as well - part of the Birmingham Metro area - it can't be simply Hoover
