Top 10 dishes at TulaneLSU's Thanksgiving meal

What a day to be alive, my dear friends! I've been busy at work all week, making Christmas decorations, cooking four turkeys, arranging the 10th annual OT Christmas Tree Decoration competition, evaluating Clark Griswold, putting the finishing touches on my Christmas tree, wrapping another outdoor tree with lights, and preparing a beautiful feast today.
It was another thankful day at the TulaneLSU household. No fights, no alcohol, no tobacco, no misogyny, no fried turkeys, no fires. Just gratitude and class from beginning to end. I would like to share with you my favorite ten dishes from today's meal. I encourage you to add your own list, if you so desire.
I must make this quick, as A Christmas Wish airs on Lifetime in just a half hour (at 7 Central). I will only get to watch half of it, as I am Christmas caroling at 8. If you live in Mid-City New Orleans by City Park, see a small candle flickering and hear a knock followed by the soft sounds of TulaneLSU's favorite Christmas carols, open the door! You are in for a treat and at the end of my songs, I will gift you with a homemade Christmas ornament.
10. Rice with roasted peppers
All ingredients from Sam's or Walmart.
9. Green bean casserole
A tradition I only prepare or eat once yearly.
8. Fresh turkey gravy
From my great grandmother's cookbook.
7. Sweet potato casserole
A notch above the delicious version at Golden Corral.
6. Parm crusted chicken cutlets
I like to move back and forth between turkey and chicken to bring out the wildness of the turkey.
5. Smoked turkey
I already oven roasted two turkeys this week and have been eating it since Friday for every meal. I decided to smoke one today on my Green Egg with apple wood chips. Very juicy, but I much prefer a plan roasted turkey and will not make this mistake next year.
4. Smoked deviled eggs
The best thing I've found on the Green Egg is smoked deviled eggs. Not the classiest dish, but a tangy, rich flavor is hard to reproduce with any other method.
3. Brussels sprouts
With home cured bacon that is then smoked on the Green Egg. A lot of work, but others say it's worth it.
2. Fried turkey breast cutlets
Picked up a few turkey breasts at Robert's grocery. They were 99 cents per pound, but a little freezer burned. Still, I was able to turn them into the meat winner of the day.
1. Chestnut soup
If you've never had my chestnut soup, you've never had the best soup in America. I get the chestnuts shipped from England, quite an expensive and preparation intensive step. It takes hours to make, but no one has ever said anything except that it's the best soup they've ever had. I usually throw a splash of truffle oil on it.
Be grateful for all in your life my friends! Love and grace are all around.

I’ve always wondered what Hunter Herst Hemsley’s Connecticut Blueblood gimmick would look like today if he never changed characters and you have given me that insight so for that I say cool I guess.

Thanks for catching that, dear friend. I have uploaded the correct image. Rushing to get dishes done before the movie and caroling!
I am no blue blood, anyone here can attest to that! I recently quit my job in the food services industry and am preparing to open Poorboy Tours of New Orleans, a venture which may bankrupt me.

I have to hand it to you, you are either one of the top trolls ever or you are one crazy arse poster. But I like the inspiration. Well done.
My catered Thanksgiving had some damn fine brussel sprouts and cheese.
No top 10 Thanksgiving list isn’t complete without a very good potato dish.

I turned off that terrible movie and am walking out the door to go caroling. Say hi if you see me please.
