Took my wife and kids to their first NO parades and the parades were great except for

the Krewe of Oshun. What a freaking disgraceful parade of angry women. It was the first uptown parade of the weekend after driving 500 miles and first thing we see are 15 troupes of identical twerking 13 year olds and rickety floats of angry women.
These people looked as If they intentionally stopped throwing beads when they got to a large group of white people. They weren't smiling and looked like they were being forced to ride in a parade. It was nuts!
Thankfully all the other parades made for a great family weekend and a wonderful experience for the wife and kids.

Oshun is terrible. I have no clue how they even pay the float den. Alla was the same thing. Some floats had 4 people total on it.

Sorry but going to Mardi Gras if it’s not the Friday-Mardi Gras Tuesday is a waste of time. The parades before then are arse.

There were some floats Saturday that had 10 people on them. I don’t even know how these parades cover costs. Our marching club always gets stuck behind Zulu and their 42 floats with the last 10-12 being less than half full.

The only bad line up is the first Friday. Pontchartrain, Sparta, Pygmalion, Carrollton and Kind Arthur were all fun this past weekend. Plus the crowds are mostly low key locals. The shite fest that starts bleeding in starting with Muses is a giant pain in the arse.

I take it back. Femme Fatale was the worst parade of the weekend. That fricker had 18 half filled floats that took forever to pass because you’d get 1 float, 1 band, 2 bullshite marching groups and then a loooooong period of nothing before the next float. King Arthur had 53 floats and passed by quicker.
