I absolutely loathe bars that allow and encourage people to bring their dog. And I love dogs. I just don't want to deal with your dog walking around while I'm trying to eat or drink and adult beverage.

I have NO issues with actual trained dogs that serve a purpose such as to help a physically/visually impaired person, as a dog that senses diabetic issues, seizures, crippling angina and such.

I'm also ok with legit trained support dogs (like ones for veterans).

The rest should just be done away with. It's well known people abuse it as an excuse to bring their dogs with them everywhere.

As a side note...I recently listened to a podcast about seeing eye dogs. Very fascinating all the extensive training those dogs go through. Now those dogs are bad arse.

The worst are people who think dogs are better than people. If you think dogs are better than people then you know too many shitty people which makes you a shitty person.

Outside of straight food places, church and airplanes I’m usually pretty damn happy to see a dog out in public.

With that said, mine only comes to places that are known to encourage bringing dogs like certain bars and place with big outdoor patios. Some of you sound like assholes

We need a universal standard of what constitutes a “service animal” and what roles they can have in society.

Emotional support, anxiety, or depression animals are a joke. The only thing worse than the person using one is the small minded physician who signed off on it.

You do know that these are all part of PTSD. Are you against service members having emotional support animals too?

My wife and I were at an airport sitting at this little bar adjacent to the boarding gate waiting for our plane when this woman sits at a table with a little dog in a carrying case (more like a zipper bag thing) and that little bastard would not shut the hell up barking.

Another couple next to us looked at us with a WTF look. We collectively decided we were going to say something to the airline folks. Just so happens such person walked by during this barking episode and we both got the attention of the airline person.

We didn’t say much but something like, we paid our tickets but we have to listen to this yapping mutt the whole trip? She (the airline person) said absolutely not. About that time the dog owner interjected loudly saying “You can’t do that it’s my emotional support animal ...”.

I told her she was going to need a hell of a lot of emotional support when we all started sneezing and breaking out in hives and all from this mangy mutt let alone how more anxious we were all going to get if the little bastard didn’t hurry up and shut the frick up. I then asked her for her name and address for service purposes when I sued her for Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress. The other couple was laughing so hard their beer was coming out their nose. The guy next to us told her “screw all dat, I’m just going to open the emergency exit and tro da little sob out tha window”.

Needless to say the airline took that lady to a counter and she did not get on our plane. When she walked off, the whole area waiting to board started applauding and cheering.

Damn nuisance arse animals.

If these people are so mentally and emotionally weak then they should stay home.

When my kids were in high school one of their classmates had severe diabetes and he had a Golden Retriever that was trained to sense swings in his sugar levels. The dog would push the boy against a wall or into a chair before he could fall. In cases like that, seeing eye dogs, and PTSD dogs with vets I'm fine with them being allowed anywhere. The women who bring the yakky little yorkie's and shite everywhere suck.....and I love my labs and wish they could go places with me but I respect others enough to not bring them everywhere I go.

Why exactly does someone call the police in this situation? What do you expect a patrol officer to do? Arrest the business owner for a non-existent crime? Force them at gunpoint to allow her to eat there? Yell at someone for you?

I blame the constant reliance on police on teaching kids in grade school to call 911 for help. Teaching the kids how to call 911 in an emergency is fine but you also need to teach them WHEN NOT to call.

was on 2 flights yesterday and they each had what appeared to be a "I'm better than you" chic with their stupid emotion dog. it bewilders me, as someone else said how "we" as a society will put the wants a few clowns in front of what appears as "everyone" else. its so dumb. want to be with your dog? cool, drive don't fly.

Airports are becoming overrun with these "anxiety" dogs. Last week, at BWI, I saw a young couple, 20's, each carrying their own little ankle biters. So they both need these dogs. Unbelievable.

It's just another sign of the social breakdown we're experiencing. Entitlement is rampant.

My dogs go to the pub with me all the time. They’re cooped up in the house while I’m at work, so we usually go to the dog park in the afternoon and then stop for a beer and a bite to eat on the way home. It’s a bar with an outside deck though. The whole staff knows us and strangers come up and know the damn dogs by name and I’ve never even seen some of these people in my life.

Last week we got caught in a rain shower that turned into a flash flood warning. We rode it out under the awning on the deck, 30 minutes later all 3 of us were soaked and I never even considered asking someone if we could step inside, because I know the rules of the establishment (even though they wouldn’t have said anything had I walked in with them). Some people just feel like others should bend to their wants
