I am completely uninformed with soccer unless it's the World Cup, which I'm pretty sure hasn't started yet, so what did we lose?

When was US soccer ever alive? Whenever the World Cup came around, everyone I knew that watched soccer pulled for other teams because they knew we sucked.

You forgot there’s a bunch of country bumpkins on here who think men tackling and rubbing on each other in tight pants is a mans sport.

The last time we didn't qualify for the WC was in 1986, over 30 years ago. Let that sink in

The defending champ and host country automatically get in. The other 30 spots have to be earned.

This is kind of like losing the SEC tournament and not getting invited to the NCAAs.
