Just release the unedited video immediately. As soon as you have it. Just like they did in the Bryant case.

Make your redactions do what you have to do but you can't sit on it and you can't let it trickle out. In these investigations the Police always make it seem like they are doing everyone a favor by providing information early rather than doing it 6 months later.

Why the frick do they only let one party see the video so they can tell everyone their version of the events they saw and stir up shite? This is nonsensical.

I can't think of a good reason to only show the video to the family. Even if the cops fricked up, and especially if they didn't.

But I'm betting they fricked up.

The police keep doing this again and again, and it makes no sense whatsoever.

The Columbus PD is textbook how you should handle this.

They had the benefit of pretty clear and compelling video that exonerated the officers actions. I’m guessing here the video evidence is less straight forward and more open to interpretation.

Then get ahead of it and interpret for everyone. Say in a press conference how YOU view the video and show it. Go step by step in the video and explain your side.

Instead, they let the race pimp attorney interpret it, and in several cases we have seen in the past, flat out lie about it.

But the narrative gets set.

Probably another one of those situations that either side can say "this" was the issue. But it still stems down to not going in peacefully

I agree. Video should be released ASAP by LEO in these instances.

Sunshine laws vary from state to state as well. I read this morning NC requires a court order before police departments can publicly release body cam videos.

Before they can be released or before they can be compelled to release them?

Both, actually. Police can't unilaterally release it without court approval. Citizens (besides family and their lawyers) also can't access it without court approval. And those with access are not allowed to make a copy or distribute it.
