See being overweight is ok though. You can still be overweight and be relatively healthy. Someone that weighs 20-30lbs more than they should/like isn't gonna have the health issues associated with obesity. I'm talking about obese here(there is a difference). Like "now I'm a type 2 diabetic obese".

Of course. But 20-30 lbs overwieght is now "normal." Which leads to obese not being as bad. That is the start of the cycle

I just saw the brits might start putting how much exercise you will need to burn off the food.

I kind of like it.

It def makes you pause and think about what you are eating. At least I know it would for me.

the last *regular* coke i drank was in high school when someone mentioned you have to run 3 miles to work it off.

i mean, i don't mind calories or the occasional regular coke now but that just seems silly for something that until then i would drink like water.

I was eating really unhealthy for awhile and gained a lot of weight. I took a class in college where we had to keep a food log and that's when I really started to change my habits.

I had already started working out more often since I knew I was getting fat but I didn't see any changes until I change my diet.

lsunurse is spot on here. We are actually getting way too accepting of being overweight.

Where's the acceptance? I don't see any acceptance.

I don't see a problem with JLaw's comments and I don't see where she said obesity is ok. There's a lot of people that are not underweight or obese that people call fat. That's what I think JLaw said needs to change. Everyone that's not skinny gets lumped into the "fat" category.

For Mexican guys, they work at jobsites and eat fast food + drink a gallon or two of water a day. For the women, it's just natural progression. Sort of like Asian women looking regular until they hit 50, and looking like a 90 year old when they hit 51.

I watch what I eat so it doesn't miss my mouth

Nurse, you are my thought-twin pretty much.

Came across this topic this morning - Should food labels include exercise 'equivalents'?

Yet they will still wear low rise jeans all day long and proudly show off their fat. This is the look I see many of the moms of my patients at work sport...

With more and more people wearing activity trackers I think they should. Although getting your 10000 steps on your fitbit for the day will do no good if you are still eating horribly.

Call me when she says something that is remotely controversial and could possibly hurt her career. That's when we will know she really cares about something.

I actually think that sadly, most Americans would still ignore it. They have to actually READ food labels to begin to care what is written.

You could put "rat poison" in the ingredients and I bet 4 out of 5 people open up that box and stuff whatever cracker it is right into their mouths.

Yes, it does. Only if you eat it in it's raw state. Want some?
