They had jambalaya on the menu. Did not try.

And my waitress was from Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Strange shite keeps happening to me, y'all.

Wait. I failed to mention the best part.

At the Wyoming Welcome Center rest stop, we pulled our car into the parking spot and quickly realized there was a group of "special" citizens enjoying lunch at a picnic table.

One of them actually waved me into my parking spot. He was wearing a Dracula cape.

Never eat any dish that has words like "Cajun", "Creole" or "Louisiana" in front of it.

I mean, have you ever heard any coonass worth his salt say "hey, come over. I'm Cooking a Cajun Jambalaya."

It's just gumbo. Or etouffee. Or Jambalaya.

Real coonasses don't need modifiers in front of their dish.

Didn't know they styled themselves as Cajun until I was reading the menu.

Had the French Dip.

When I lived out west, people who came to visit me always insisted in ordering anything that claimed to be "Cajun" on the menu despite my warnings...I think people like to do it just so they can complain about the crap that is passed for Cajun outside of the south.

Always eat whatever the region is known for....

So a person, who happens to appreciate a good cape, helped you into your parking spot? Sounds like I'd rather be around that guy than 90% of the people I come into contact with every day

Around the country, a Cajun dish is just the regular dish with pepper on it.

There is a Cajun restaurant that I found for my parents. 10 minutes from their house in AZ. Owners are from Baton Rouge. One of the waitresses lived down the street from where my parents had lived until the flood.

I went there Friday night with them...food was good. And my family has a place they can go to when they miss LA food.
