My local HEB was nearly fully stocked. Plenty of paper products and for the first time actually had enough brands to make a choice among. Crowd was normal for a Saturday morning.

Stopped at Aldi's on way back for a few more things and only thing I didn't see was paper towels. All else was stocked. Very few people.

However, Walmart was packed. I've quit going there completely.

HEB is the real hero. They've been great in this.

Got a call from my salesperson this morning concerning this. Says it will mostly likely be 2 weeks. They are shifting a lot of the production to other plants. He didn't seemed too concerned.....it was a precautionary measure. Most of these plants shut down a few days for maintenance anyway and they are just extending it. Stop spreading fear.

It doesn't help that the CNN article making the rounds on social media about this plant shutting down used the click-baity sentence "Closed Until Further Notice" in the headline -- despite the fact that the article clearly states multiple times that they were closing for two weeks.

Anything to spread fear in a world of people who only read headlines.

Find a better grocery store

It’s actually a little more disturbing that Walmart’s supply chain disruptions are this bad. Local grocers seem to be weathering it better but that’s likely due to their distributors not feeling the brunt of this yet.

If Walmart is having this big or problems, with all their resources, either that’s a foreboding sign of things to come or there’s been a huge decline in their management.

They don't have a supply chain issue They have a demand issue.

CNN is the worst. It comes up in my feed and they have the most misleading article titles of anyone.

In the article you referenced, way down in the text, they admit that production will be shifted so NBD.

You have to be a halfwit to use them as a reliable news source.

hand sanitizer

Governments across the globe have purchased all of the hand sanitizer supply which is why you can't find it on the shelves at your local store or on line.

Having to sacrifice by buying commercial factory farmed eggs as opposed to my expensive pasture raised eggs has been tough.

Are we sure through? I get from a traffic standpoint more people will shop at Wally World than smaller stores. But I’ve personally witnessed their supply chain and distribution machine. It’s one of the most impressive Operations I’ve ever professionally witnessed. The pressure Walmart places on their suppliers is intense. It’s why so many companies have headquarters located in Bentonville. These people typically don’t bother with the Winn-Dixies and Rouses of the worlds.

And I’m not talking about TP and Sanitizer. The stuff doesn’t exist right now. I’m talking about food and perishables. It’s interesting to see Walmart having issues keeping shelves stocked yet Winn Dixie has everything you want. Walmart purposely reduced hours to stock shelves. So I’m curious if this is
1: Can’t keep shelves full because of manpower
2: Can’t get stock from suppliers
3: Both

saturday i hit the trifecta at the fairview walmart:

- hand sanitizer wipes
- mega pack TP
- paper towels

i will say the supplies were going fast when i was in there so in another 30 minutes i'm guessing it would have been empty again.

but it was the first time i came across TP or sanitizing wipes in a month at walmart. i took it as a good sign.

All gone this morning. That’s a good haul. We’re good on sanitizer and TP. Fairview Walmart is the only Walmart I’ll consider shopping at. Has to be top 10 nicest cleanest Walmart’s in America
