Not as impressive, but Wade Boggs has a claim of 107 beers in one day, including 64 on a cross country flight.

My favorite Andre story was the one Flair told of Andre and Blackjack Mulligan. They were all at a big party on a beach somewhere. Mulligan was wasted and said "watch this" and sucker punched Andre. Andre dragged Mulligan and Dick Murdoch down to the water and almost drowned both of them.

Andre the Giant would be the captain of an all time athlete drinking team. One of my favorite stories has always been Wade Boggs drinking 64 beers on a flight from NY to Seattle. For a man his size (not that big), that's impressive.

I believe this. My dad was an alcoholic and on multiple occasions drank 3 cases of Budweiser. He usually fell asleep after drinking a half gallon of Beefeater's Gin while watching TV. So, if Andre was an alcoholic I could easily see a man that large consuming an unbelievable amount of booze.
