A friend sent this to our group of former travel ball Dads. Most of us coached - some wackos, some not so much. All of our kids have graduated high school or about to do so. He titled the text- “Remember the good ol’ days.”

Facebook link, sorry.

Something about:

"Sorry you spent your life savings on travel ball - at least you got to re-live your glory days through the eyes of your kids."

Dude is a dick, but the Spanish thing was "Coach I speak English!"

Side note, talked to one of the dads at school pick up. Ask if his son was playing playground ball, said no playing travel ball. He's paying $1800 for his kid to play ball...

“You’re lucky your mom is hot.”
“You’re not the worst player I’ve ever had, wait yes you are.”

Etc, etx.

And therein lies the reason why I have never had or wanted kids. I am way too damned selfish with my money to fork over $1800 for my little bastard to play ball.

Don't have FB, but was able to watch.

That is stupid. You can't even see the coaches mouth so it seems to be bullshite.

My kids will have to miss out on their dream if it is travel ball because FUUUUUCCCKKK that shite. I refuse to be a travel ball family. I'll send him to camps, pay for a coach if he shows promise but driving all over and having no free time? Not gonna happen. I love my kids and all that, but I also have a life I intend to live and sweating in bumfrick, Mississippi on a Saturday afternoon ain't on that list of shite to do.

Newsflash: Kids can be good at a sport and they don't even have to ruin your life to get there.

I don’t understand the hate for travel ball. If that’s what the kid enjoys and you can afford it, why not? It doesn’t mean you think your kid is going pro.

Also, when Jaxxton gets to high school, every kid that is any good will have played travel ball. Your son or daughter will be behind mentally if all they have played is rec ball with volunteer coaches.

spending 20 weekends at motels in towns like Madison MS with the whole family doesn't appeal to many here
