I'd be fine with giving the volunteers roast duck with mango salsa and a fine chardonnay if that's what they want.

some evacuees at the Convention Center complaining

I'm giving you something, and you're complaining? I would be happy to tell them exactly where they can put the hot dogs if they don't want to eat them.

BTW, I'd like to see a few photos of some of these complainers. I can imagine things, but I'd would sure like to verify.

I was happy to eat anything during Katrina. That being said, the FDNY are some badass cooks.

Amazing isn't it? Two, three days ago "save me, please save me". Two days later, "frick a couple of hotdogs, I want what he's having".

For the article and comments it looks like the food served to the refugees is prepared on site, while the food served to the volunteers has been delivered to them.

Now, are these people bitching about free food in their free shelter after receiving a free rescue? Or is TMZ spouting more "fake news" and trying to fabricate a problem where there is none?

It's the brownies. Nothing pisses off fat Americans more then feeling slighted on dessert.

I think I see a bag of cookies on the evacuee plate. If that's the case then they are just pissed the volunteers are getting the better dessert.

hotdog and chili > dry looking pasta
chips > dirty rice?
bag of famous amos > brownie

yal gotta be kidding me.

you got evacuated, getting shelter and food, probably sitting down and waiting.

these VOLUNTEERS are working, giving up their time and being away from their family to help. God forbid they feed themselves something different -- they've prob ate hot dogs for days too, what if they chipped in their own money to get catered food for themselves? Gonna complain they didn't pay for everyone else to get catering? unreal.

Hey shut the hell up and eat the food you're given or go find your own food.

Then why is it a story?

If they don't serve different menus they might mix up which plates have the mind control drugs in them.

Just wait until they get started demo'ing their homes. They will be glad to have anything to eat.

I ate stuff that was dropped off LITERALLY (see that KB) without even bothering to know what it was.

This is how we know these refugees are doing well and there isn't much to report on their welfare, they have enough energy to bitch about what food they are being given for free.

Yep, as the sympathy part of this disaster wanes the bitching will ramp up tenfold.
