re: Tips for 60yro just back in the game.

After reading a number of these responses, some of them rather sophomoric, I would offer the following:

A.) A number of us 60 year old males can get it up quite easily and not need meds to do it. It's called taking care of yourself in your earlier years and not drinking to the point of pickling your brain and pecker.

B.) If he has only been out of the relationship for a couple of years, he is probably not that ready for something real meaningful just yet. Rule of thumb for recovery either from divorce or death is one year for every five years married. Singles get into a lot of trouble by violating that rule and trying to hit the gas too hard and too quick. Just enjoy casual dating for now.

C.) No, just because we're 60 we don't fancy fricking 70, 80, 90 yr olds, etc. It's akin to fricking something between your mother and a rubber doll. We'll leave those age groups to males of the same age.

D.) Usually no more than 15 years younger if a relationship is intended. Otherwise, too great of a difference in terms of life experience and puts strain on the relationship.

E.) Widows/widowers are a difficult group. You can't complete with a ghost. Both sides need to remember that fact.

F.) For a 60 yr old, I would recommend church(s), although they're not my thing, and simply scoring invitations to parties that other professionals are attending. Again, when it comes to relationships, professionals and non-professionals may mix ok for the short term, but not the long term. I learned that one the hard way myself and eventually lost it when the girl kept indicating that my vocabulary was too far over her head. I finally reach for my money clip and said, how about my giving you $40.00 to go into Booksamillion to buy a good Websters so you can start looking up things for yourself? She got pissed, but I had already decided I wasn't going to see her anymore. Thing that made me give up all hope on her was when I was telling her of Robin Williams' death, she asked if he was a country and western singer? Just couldn't handle it. We didn't stop at Booksamillion, didn't collect $200, and instead took her dumb arse straight home. I might add that she also frigid as hell. I decided I was better off without if she was the best I could find at the time.

Still date here and there, but am lot pickier.

The other thing I would recommend is that your friend just be "himself" and be ok with being himself. As long as it's nothing too out in left field, that will project well and he will eventually do ok. Just get your toes wet, then some more, then some more, etc.
