it’s the worst it’s ever been in restaurants of all levels and they still expect the highest tips ever. It’s bullshite.
Damn near every restaurant is short staffed so the ones that do show up instead of sitting at home to collect a government check are working their arse off. Karens like you don't understand that and probably get poor service when the server realizes you are a shite tipper right off the bat when you start complaining.

That’s 17% hotrod…..if you want more than that learn to code a-hole.
Your math doesn’t math.
17% of 50 is 8.5. $7 tip on a $50 bill isn’t even 15%.

Motherfricker you don't know me I don't complain about shite....I know bad service when I see it. When I walk into a restaurant and there are 6 occupied tables and not a single one has even drinks...that's bad service. This is the rule not the exception these days.
I get that you are mad that job you chose pays you 3 dollars an hour and then tries to scrape that much from me on a credit card fee....sorry your industry sucks so much bro...learn to code like I said.

Short staff isn't my problem and as a customer I don't care...either way I expect good service. To the other point, it is very seldom where I see people "working their arse off" in a restaurant these days. If you do it's usually at a local place or at a high end place (although even this is getting iffy).

This is what causes a lot of servers to get shite tips....they are just too stupid to realize it.

Your are literally complaining in this thread

If 6 tables walked in 2 minutes before you and don't have drinks that's bad service? interesting

I haven't been in the service industry since I got out of grad school over 10 years ago

You are the type that requires the most attention and leaves the lowest tip

Nah, once you've done it long enough you can tell most of the time right off the bat if the table tips well or not. When you get slammed you devote the majority of your time to tables that you believe will tip well. You get shite service because you come across as an a-hole

Give them some time and "killing" will be a literal statement.

The bill was $58. Put $100 bill in folder. Waitress never came back. I sought her out and asked about my change.
If that happened to me I would leave a one dollar bill in the folder and split.

You need to raise your expectations my friend. If I get good service I tip well...if not I don't....the standard in today's world is not good service. Like I said, a fairly recent occurence. It is what it is.

Went to dinner tonight. The bill was $58. Put $100 bill in folder. Waitress never came back. I sought her out and asked about my change. She said she assumed it was a tip because I didn’t pay with smaller bills. WTF
Jeebus! That would be a 72% tip. How f**king dumb and/or shady is that server?

These people didn't walk in 2 minutes before me...hell I had to wait 10 min for a table myself when they had several open. Again, I don't care about short staff...it's not my problem.

Maybe you should remath your remath, as $7.50 is 15% on the before tax bill, which is the appropriate way to calculate a tip.

You deserve this for still paying cash at a restaurant. They probably didn’t know what to do with it

We have a system where the guy carrying & unloading lumber to your truck is not owed a tip but a someone carrying food to your table is.
I think tipping is out of control, but this is a stupid comment. One person's pay is dependent tips and one person's pay is not.

I typically get good service. I can remember leaving unhappy once in the past year and I eat out about 10 meals a week
