Wife (pics won't load) tested positive. I got the vaccine. Let's see if moderna is the real deal

Update: it's been well over 2 weeks since I posted this. I never got sick and never limited my exposure to her. I guess my vaccine worked.

Challenge accepted, I tested positive first of month.... wife had her first vaccine and then tested + after me. I will get vaccine in several months if my natural antibodies go away. Until then I’ll donate plasma, if I get vaccine then You can’t donate plasma to help others

I haven't gotten the vaccine and have been exposed three times that I know of. Still haven't contracted the virus.

There are loads in them, ironically.

When did you get your first Moderna shot? Doesn't mean jack if you contracted it before you got vaccinated.

Yes and I just realized I typed moderna. I meant to type pfizer as that's the one I got not moderna.

Was this the first or second dose? It takes until about 2 weeks after the second dose to reach the max amount of effectiveness.

This means they contracted it roughly a week after the vaccine.

Both take about 2 weeks after the 2nd dose to reach maximum effectiveness

You might have contracted the virus and been asymptomatic. anywhere from 60-90% of the public is asymptomatic without a vaccine.

I do have a crappy heart but I've been trying to be super careful since finding out about it. Just found out earlier that my wife, who is a teacher, has a student that tested positive this afternoon. So now when she gets home later, I'll have a second-hand exposure to it. We'll see how this goes. So far we as a family have been able to dodge this virus. Hoping that trend continues.

Glad you got vaccinated, new evidence coming out that the 2 mRNA vaccines are even more that the 94-95% effective. I hope you continue to update us for the next 10 days or so on this thread. Are you planning to quarantine away from her or take any special precautions or you just going to let nature take it’s course ?
