They’re the best ethnic group at producing good football players in the entire world by far.

Not really surprising. There are also more people of English descent in the US than there are in England.

the interesting part of this stat: in 1972, outside the South they were no more than 25% of the pop in any other region. It's probably even lower now

For over a century the most common ethnicity in tUS wasn't English but German. However that may have changed w/all the Mexicans here now

48k in American Samoa. But are American Samoans American considering it’s an American territory?

English is still the most common self-reported ancestry in the US. German is second (very close behind). Irish is third, with Mexican a close fourth (though I imagine that data is harder to accurately collect and evaluate, so could be higher).

Same for Puerto Ricans. Twice as many in the mainland as in PR proper (6 vs 3 million).

I remember several years ago when I was in the Army, we were tasked with evaluating a Samoan National Guard unit. One night, we could see this “glow” on the horizon, so my LT & myself rucked up & headed that direction. Well, the Samoans had captured a feral hog, butchered it, and decided to cook it on an open fire. Within a tactical bivouac… Crazy ??

Last place I worked before retiring we had a good size group of people from Tonga. Very nice people, mostly all were Mormon. One of the guys we called him king, his buddies said he would have been king if he stayed.

They were strong as a m/f. The guy we called king was banned from international rugby for life. Almost killed a referee in Hawaii. I asked him what happened, he laughed a little and said he made a bad call.
