Just to the right of the par 5 14th hole at Oakwing. I’ve hit a butter fade 3 wood or two into that parking lot.

I've seen some of those flights on FlightRadar24. Shows up as a 737 leaving Alex, headed south with no destination listed. I didn't watch long enough to see where they went but I figured they were some type of deportation.

A lot of them go to El Paso and Central America.

I'm surprised that those countries would accept them

After the old England AFB was closed, like 30 years ago, local officials moved the commercial airport from Esler Field to what is now called AEX.
I think that they built a new terminal about 10 or 15 years ago.

that's what I was referring to, Esler, wonder what it's being used for? that wasn't the worst facility in the world, even being around Ellick

ah, now it makes perfect sense, shut down a military base and move the civilian field to the old military field then reopen the civilian field for military ops

Kinda makes sense to me. England had a long runway and is much closer to Elick - may be in the city limits. Esler is out in the middle of BFE.

was sort of being tongue cheek but you're right, ESF was in the middle of BFE, their runways could handle any airliner though, Delta used to fly 727s in and out of there

Actually, the A-10s were operating there until the AFB was closed. (I knew an old hog driver. Their pilots returned often to their old playgrounds near Elleck.)
England AFB transitioned to a commercial airport, general aviation operation, repair facility, and a prisoner/alien transport hub. It has since expanded a few times.

used to be a big MOA beginning just north of there, covered most of Toledo Bend and tailed off to the SE from the south end

I fly out of there 4-5 times a year. Great for catching an early morning flight to Atlanta.

Just think if Kamala was elected, the place would be an immigrant welcoming center instead of a deportation center.
