Nice lesson for my kids. One I had never thought of and probably wouldn’t have even considered dangerous if someone was preparing to throw some in a pool with people in it.

New line for list of things that can potentially kill you.

Dry ice in pool can kill you.

No, that would have been if the swimming pool was filled with vodka.

Three people have been killed after dry ice was poured into a swimming pool during a birthday party in Moscow.

Where is the poster who doesnt think serial killers exist anymore? Clearly technology didnt deter whoever devised this plan to kill and making it appear as an accident.

Certainly didn't help any but probably would have still displaced the oxygen in the vicinity had it happened outdoors. That was a fairly large amount of CO2 dumped in that small pool. It looked more like a large hot tub than a swimming pool.

I’m confused. How did the dry ice kill them? Freeze burns? Oxygen depletion? Hypothermia?

So many questions...

I have a really hard time believing that a pharmacist (who would have had to have taken numerous chemistry classes in their studies) would not know what happens when you throw dry ice into water.

It was her birthday party. I doubt she is the one lugging the dry ice around.

They did this in a closed area and not outside. Also not smart.

This is even dumber than I first thought. This is in a tiny enclosed indoor pool

I was wondering how that was able to happen in an open outdoor pool.

Floating bodies in a swimming pool is one hell of a cool effect.

This same thing happened to a friend of mine from high school a few years ago but it wasn’t a pool, it was 350° peanut oil, and it wasn’t dry ice, it was a frozen turkey.
