Thoughts on the Fender MIM 50s Player Stratocaster?

Just a stock one. Daphne Blue. Believe I found my winner. Just thoughts from some who’ve played them. I’ve picked up a couple. And played a Jimmy Vaughn TexMex because the neck is the same.
This is it for guitars though. Last one I buy until I’m good enough to be heard in public. So that maybe forever. Lol

If it feels good, get it. You probably aren't good enough to tell a big difference in a better one. If you enjoy playing it, you're more likely to stick with it and get good.

I would try to find a good used USA fender. They can be bought for around $800. It will be the last guitar you ever buy if it has everything you are looking for with regards to neck and pickups

I have a MIM tele that I absolutely love. Feels great in the hand and sounds just as good as it's MIA counterpart.

The color I am looking at is 1200 to thousands in American models. God damn Eric Clapton’s British arse plays one in the color so it stayed pricy.

Hell no. That’s probably only a custom shop repro. I don’t like the two tone brown anyway.
He began using a Daphne Blue Strat in the mid to late 2000’s. So while it’s not his most historic by any stretch, just him using one made that particular color go up. This one today was a hundred bucks cheaper than I’ve seen recently (and I look obsessively). So I said screw it.

Can the average person really tell the difference between guitar makes and models or is it more of a gotta-have kind of thing?

I’ve been playing a American delux strat for nearly 10 years. IMHO it’s the best on the market unless maybe you get some crazy special edition from the fender custom shop.
As far as the MIM vs MIA, the MIM is a great guitar for the price. It’s honestly not that much difference. If your on a budget, I would save some money by buying the MIM and then at some point upgrade your pickups. Drop some custom pickups in, depending on what type of sound you want, and I guarantee you’ll get compliments on the sound quality of your guitar.
The neck is all about feel. If you like the feel/playability of that style neck your in good shape. I prefer the tone of the rosewood neck over maple if given the choice. Maybe I’m crazy, but the rosewood seems to have a warmer more sustained sound.
Really like the daphne blue. I want to get one in sea foam green one day.

Not really. A guitar would have to really sound like shite for me to be able to tell. It is more about feel and look. If it feels good enough to keep you playing then it will eventually sound better.

If you're not actively gigging, I'd save the dough. Use that budget and get you a Mexican strat and work on recording rigs like Cubase or Presonus stuff. You'll have more fun.
