I've been happy with my 2019 C7 Z06.
It's the gateway drug to supercars and scary fast even in stock trim.
Pros:
-Mostly DIY friendly to work on.
-Prices coming down since the C7 is older.
-Pretty nice interior, nicer than the C6.
-Later models had cooling improvements and share components with the ZR1.
-Every time I get on it I ask myself how is it legal to sell this to the general public.
Cons:
-Still can be a victim of the AFM lifter failures, expensive to fix before and after failure.
-Body fit and finish is not as great as other cars in this price range.
-GM dealers don't know how to work on it, in general. Even something as simple as changing the charge air coolant results in bewildered stares from service managers and techs at even large GM dealerships.
-Interior is held together with dozens of plastic clips that are apparently one-time use only.
-All accessories bear the "Corvette tax" even for the same part on a Camaro.

For the money, not many cars give you exceptional track-capability per dollar compared to the many of the Euro offerings. In my opinion, the C7 is tough to beat with the proper mods. This goes for tracking, or roll racing, which is what I prefer.
I'm partial, as I own a modified C7 that's pushing a little over 650 RWHP and is a blast to drive.
To each their own.

Funny you say that. My friends joke about riding in mine because you have to basically roll out of it. Really tall male friends won't even get in it.
Even at 4'10", it can be a struggle getting out of that thing. Granted, I require a booster seat that has me much closer to the wheel than most.

The newer Vettes are a very nice attempt at making a European sports car. But to my generation, “Corvette” will always mean a sexy 70’s big block machine with curves like a ‘77 Playmate of the Month.

I used to valet at an upscale Scottsdale resort. I've pretty much driven everything. Vettes have always and still do top my list of best cars.

Yeah, who would want a car who's lines were inspired by a Ferrari 250 GTO...

Wow. I'm jealous of how fun that must have been.
Was there a few weeks ago for Barrett Jackson, and I swear I saw crazier cars around town (namely parked out front of Fashion Square) than I saw at the auction. Talk about a dick measuring city, car wise.
One "hip"/trendy restaurant I went to had a sign out front that said: "No staging cars"

Maybe just a personal thing on C3's, but I never understood why some owners run the rear fenders so high over the rear wheels. It is a simple adjustment to lower the body and level the car.

When I said, fit like a glove, I meant as I was seated in it. But getting out of it was a pain in the butt

You've pretty much pegged things correctly. It's a great place there.

Only $4240 in 1967 and one listed on Classics on TD for $170K.
Just some trivia to throw out here. The C2 generation was supposed to end with the 66 model. There were a lot of issues with the molds and final fitment with panels and that led to the decision to push the C3 introduction back one year. Even so, problems remained with the 68 and many were resolved with the 69 and 70 models. The 67 became one of the most desired cars for collectors.
The 64-67 models came standard with a 20 gallon fuel tank. There was an option, RPO N03 for a 36 gallon tank, referred to as the "Tanker Option". Designed for track cars, but it could be ordered at the dealer.
This is a standard 20 Ga tank. Imagine another 16 Ga crammed into that tiny area.

I thought with the introduction of the C8, the price of C7's would drop like a rock. Wow, was I wrong.
I think the C7 is one of the best looking Corvettes ever, especially in the higher end performance models. The gray one posted in a previous post is spectacular.
I'm just partial to certain German cars, however I would have snagged a C7 in a heartbeat if they were a bargain. I'll keep checking...

Plug in an AFM disabler into the USB port. You’re welcome

Thanks for the tip but the root cause of failure is the AFM lifters and can only truly be corrected by lifter replacement and a new non-AFM cam. Failures can happen at 10k miles or 80k miles or anywhere in between, with, or without an AFM disabler.
I do run the Range AFM disabler device in the OBD2 port on my car but you are really only buying yourself time with the AFM system.

Neighbor had a 1991 ZR1, extrude-honed intake and heads, custom cams, headers, and Corsa exhaust, 200hp wet shot "just in case". Definitely one of the best looking of all Corvettes. I also think the C5's have aged well.
Same guy also had a 1971 Tor Red Hemi Cuda with less than 100 original miles.

You aren't wrong. For what they are they have too much understeer. The one time I tracked a C7 Z06 I cooked the front tires in 2 laps, by the end of three I had a soft brake pedal and before I finished the 5th lap it overheated. On the street they feel rather soulless save for the engine note. They definitely were tuned for a demographic. It doesn't mean they aren't a fun car but with the prices of the Z06 and ZR1 staying high there are a lot of cars with more smiles per dollar out there.
I’m glad I’m not the only one. It’s a car I really wanted to like. V8 rwd in what looks like on paper a decently balanced car is what I love. But it’s just underwhelming.

That said, you and I are jaded by cars that can be abused on the track lap after lap and continue to do what they are supposed to do.
Indeed. People who own fire suits and hans problems.

I had a red ‘15 C7 and then a ‘19 C7 Grand Sport in Sebring Orange - the Grand Sport was my favorite car I’ve ever owned.
My C8 was nice (and a little faster on the track), but I’d still take my manual C7 GS over it. The Grand Sport did very well on the track - probably a better track car than the Z06. Those supercharged engines just don’t do well on the track.
For me, the C7 was the last “true” Vette.

There is no way to exit a low car and look cool.
