I’ve spent a lot of time in Argentina. It’s a great country with friendly people - they are pretty monolingual, so speaking Spanish is a plus - but, unlike the frogs who look down on non-francophones, the Argentines are tolerant and patient if you don’t habla.
But yes - VERY European, especially in BA. And the highest concentration of eye candy you’ve ever seen in a big city.

There's quite a bit of European admixture in S America. The most intelligent and successful obviously have more than average.

Long before WWII there has been a strong pan-euro thing going on in Argentina. It was very prosperous place before Peron. Heavy German, Italian, Bristish, and even Welsh contingents. Buenos Aires has a Parisian feel in the core and British feel in the suburbs.
