All of those subscription plans are a ripoff. Their replacement schedule is ridiculous so they make up the cheap prices with quantity billed.
But I’m also only basing this on the Quip toothbrush.

Then you better read up on blades, Feathers are not forgiving and not something to try right off the bat. Get a variety pack of blades, not just brands but models within several brands to get a feel of what works better than others. I prefer Astra Super Platinums but everyone will have a preference based on beard type and shaving style.

Don’t like any of them. Started buying big packs of disposable ones from Amazon or Costco and found better success.
Me too.

Apparently DSC bizarrely went with some anti-men campaign too, but I never saw it.
Didn't see that but they went full BLM DSC on BLM.
I used them for a while and just ok but that was the tipping point for me.

I will recommend buying a sample pack. You’ll WAY overpay for the razors in the sample pack (up to $0.75-1/razor) and then find what you like. After that, you’re like 7-40 cents a blade depending on what you like. You’ll absolutely hate some. You’ll find one you like quickly.

It is all about personal preference, obviously, but I tried Harry's and found them to be the absolute worst razor I've ever put on my face. First, 5 blades is so unnecessary it borders on insanity. 3 is likewise unnecessary, but the razor companies had essentially run out of new, useful, innovations to sell new products. So they just started adding blades.
I've been using an old style DE razor for about a year now and won't go back to the cartridge razors. 50 Feather blades (generally thought to be the sharpest available) cost $15 - $17. And that is on the high end of costs for DE blades. That will get me close to two years of daily shaves (unless you feel it is necessary to change blades every week...which it probably isn't). It takes about a month to get comfortable with the DE technique and the process is a bit more time consuming since you probably want to get a decent shave cream to go with it (i.e. not some can of foam like Barbasol). But once you are good with the DE you quickly realize just how unnecessary 2 blades are...let alone 5!!!

I think if you are going to go with Feather blades it is probably best to pair them with a mild shaver/handle. I was given a Feather A2 handle as a gift (something I never would have bought for myself because of the ridiculous cost) and it works perfectly with Feather blades. I might get a tiny nick every 6-8 shaves, but the blade is so sharp and the nick is so small I never even know it happens until you see the little speck of blood. Quick dab with the stypic pen and I'm good to go.

just buy dorco razors whenever you run out. Years ago they were the dollar shave club razors and do a great job

Used to be great for the price.
They sent me a replacement for my 4 blade razor i had for years and its absolutely terrible.
I believe they call the old 4 blade the heritage now. I still like that one but the new 4 blade feels like a 1 use disposable razor, its awful.

Dollar Shave Club uses Dorco razors (Korean.)
They're available on Amazon for cheap. No need for a sub to be pitched deodorant and lotion. Plus, every different Dorco blade (4 blade, 6 blade, etc.) all use the same attachment type, so one handle can take all the different blades you may switch between.

In my experience and research, this is actually Kai. They are more expensive than anything else out there, they run $1.00 per blade. Again, in my experience, they are sharper and a little better than Feather.
My regulars are Astra Super Platinum (actually Gillette owned but made in Putin Land) and Dorco Stainless.

Think I paid $34 for the 100ct pack of Feather blades. Changing the blade weekly, that give's me roughly 2 years worth of some of the best blades on the market.
Cancelled DSC back in 2020 for reasons.
