Worked in Collinsville for about 6 months and used to go into Owasso a lot to eat and shop. It was actually a nice little suburb of Tulsa and seemed like a really nice place to have a family. I think it's a good location as well. You're not far from the airport, you're not far from Tulsa (which is way better than OKC), and you're almost in the foothills of the Ozarks. There's also a lot of recreation in the area - lakes, parks, etc.

Weather does kinda suck, though. Tornadoes in spring, it gets hot and humid as frick in the summer (triple digits with heat index) and it gets cold as hell in the winter (coldest we had was -10 with wind chill).

Oklahoma schools are a little lackluster, but Owasso has a good district. Schools here are huge. Broken Arrow has 20k students. Not sure the size of Owasso, but they all play in the same football conference. Speaking of football, Owasso is an up and comer over the last 10 years and is currently #1 in 6A Div1. So there’s that too.

We currently live in Katy, TX and the schools are huge here as well. Both my boys play baseball and my understanding is Owasso has a great baseball program.

We are looking at the Stone Canyon neighborhood.

Owasso, Oklahoma

That’s a decent amount of O’s In that, but it could use at least one more.

Can you take Ed with you when you go?

It’s a very, very dry heat.

To the OP, Owasso has a great baseball program.

I grew up Deep South…It doesn’t get humid in NE Oklahoma. Triple digits are pretty rare here. It will happen, but not often. Mostly 90’s or high 80’s in the summer.

It also doesn’t get that cold.

Well, then I must've just gotten lucky enough to experience all the extremes.

Pretty much anything you could ever want from suburban living is right there in Owasso. But the true locals pronounce it with an A on the end Owass'a - just FYI.

Pearl Harbor Hwy is one of the cleanest highways in America. Easy sprint into Tulsa for work. If you have a V8 then an occassional ride along Indian Nation doing 130+ is always fun. Great old school eateries on Route 66. Underrated golf courses with very friendly green fees $$. Hot as balls in July/August but at least you get 4 seasons.

Overall - easy 9/10 all day errr day.

Lived in between Owasso and Claremore for several years. As others have mentioned, it is a nice suburb of Tulsa. Stone Canyon is a very nice subdivision on the southeast side of town. The Patriot golf course is in the neighborhood and very nice.

I’ve spent a lot of time in the Tulsa area. Mainly around Jenks and Broken Arrow which is a bit more south than Owasao.

Northern Tulsa was a little more industrial by the airport but it looks like there’s a lot of parks and green spaces north of that near Owasso.

It seems like a really great place and if I had to move to OK outside Broken Bow, I wouldn’t complain too much.

Owasso used to be not much of anything but, as the Tulsa area became more wealthy as businesses moved in and Broken Arrow became too crowded, Owasso benefitted from the growth. Have several friends who live there...it's an upper-middle class enclave with good schools.

Tulsa has changed a TON since I lived out there about 15 years ago. Hell, they've even got medical marijuana now and downtown Tulsa has some great food and bars.

It's a nice area. Don't think you'd regret the move.

I wouldn’t mind moving to Oklahoma, reddest state in the union.
