Can someone give me a good reason why the robot wasn't the best option?
And didn't it work out the absolutely best way possible?
I am not understanding why the police shouldn't use any tactic that is legal?

OTers supporting cops and not having a problem with them "being militarized".........Is this like the Bizarro O-T Lounge?
Baton Rouge is bad enough with traffic as it is. We don't want it actually burning down because of some stupid special snowflakes and out of state dispshits with a very and highly inflated opinion of themselves.
Louisiana law enforcement just put on a clinic on how to deal BLM getting violent and taking the out of state agitators out of the equation before they really start some shite. Hopefully agencies across the country will be studying and taking notes of the BR response and applying it to their tactics.
Intimidation and an appropriate show of force is the way to go.

The best option would have been to program the robot to say:
quote:
Candygram for Mongo....Candygram for Mongo.
as it delivered the bomb.
For those not understanding the reference

Lets see if BRPD keeps this aggresive style of policing for the larger crowds around during LSU football season

Are you talking about riot gear against football fans?
Posted on 7/12/16 at 7:19 pm to meauxjeaux2
Are you talking about riot gear against protesters chanting and holding signs? Of course you have some knuckleheads out there , but they are no more than the knuckleheads you see on campus during gameday.

This
Given the credible threats, out of state dickwads, and agitators who were trying to make this an event, I'd say LALE has done an incredible job . I think given the armed black panthers were on the street, the police were fully justified in their choice of gear. Job well done boys.
As for Gen. Honore...frick you you washed up old has been. Your 15 minutes is up. Thanks for your service before and after Katrina but I'm sick of you and your fricking leftist agenda. go stand out in front of a bunch of angry protesters with nothing but your smile for protection and let me know how you feel. I'm tired of men who made their living as soldiers, upon retirement from active duty, decide it's time to disarm and love the world's troubles away. Especially when they've become media darlings and want to stay in the limelight.

If they cant take public scrutiny they shouldnt be serving the public they are just words.

Why didn't they put tear gas in a mosquito truck and run it down Airline highway?

Sigh. I want you to really think about that and how sensitive our society has become to words, statues, memorials, fricking cakes, etc...and then just drop it.

Food coloring in the usual mosquito spray would have scattered them.

Wow. I hope this is a troll post.
Have you actually went out to see any of these protests in person or have you only viewed the cherry picked and edited short videos the news has been showing?

Terry melancon, was shot and killed by the same guy you say we shouldn't have military-style gear. 2 other officers were shot as well.
The problem with your thinking is that many pot dealers are very violent. Maybe not your hook-up, but street gang drug dealing is real and they will attack without remorse, people that disrespect them, invade their turf or look at them cross.
To the poster that says most departments dont need SWAT, again that is small minded. Your idea of what swat does is probably driven by movies, picturing people sitting around waiting to load up in a van to shoot people.
SWAT teams are mostly a call out job, the officers mostly work within the department and have advanced training. They serve high risk warrants and are called out for barricaded people. Full time SWAT teams usually spend their day looking for wanted individuals while in regular vehicles. The SWAT vehicles are busted out for search warrants or when a known suspect is in a known location. The bearcats are normally parked.
The likelyhood for injury goes way down with swat over regular offices because of their training, special equipment and tactics

If they don't like bean bag rounds, rubber bullets, and CS gas then they shouldn't be protesters.
