Anybody drive the new Focus? Are they good reliable cars? I'm tired of the same old Corollas and Civics and want to break the monotony. Also which is the better model - the sedan or the hatch back?

It's fricking gas efficient that's for sure. Don't let any haters tell you otherwise

Fusion looks better though

Is it safe? That's my primary consideration.

Best-driving compact car this side of a Golf. Focus ST is something to look into. Beastly little hatch.

First time that I can remember when the domestic companies and the Koreans have more competitive compact cars than the Japanese.

Focus, Cruze, and Elantra are all pretty impressive and very popular. They are all due for a redesign soon too probably.

I'd test drive the new Mazda 3 if I were you. The base (2.0L) models are in the same price range.

Good cars, ST is a great all around car. I'd get the hatch, I think it looks better and gives you more function.

Does Mazda have any plans on bringing back their pickup with the sky tech motors?

Had a rental Focus once...felt very cheaply made. I travel a lot and won't accept another ones.
