See you in a couple of years when you come asking for college money or transference (it's not forgiveness, someone has to pay.)
You had choices. Now we all pay for it, because you chose to blow cash on car notes and thousands of dollars of decorations, phones, etc. I don't need to make up the difference. Lights, birthday yard signs, etc., but your boo got her thing. Now we're all supposed to panic about why you didn't put money into a 529 instead.
Sorry, I'm the heartless dude, it has a cost. That's the thing everyone ignores, is the cost. You're screwing the setup for my kids and for my potential grandkids. But ask for more money. Tell me I should be enthusiastic. And then file my fricking taxes.

My wife wanted to do that for my daughter..... I told her we live at the end of a fricking street and 5 or 6 cars may pass in front of our house on a regular day.
She's going to cheat on you one day and this right here will be one of the nuggets of your marriage that she shares with Jody when he asks why she hates you so much.

Jody this and Jody that!
If you act like a bitch for your wife, she will treat you like a bitch. Then she'll look for someone that isn't, but you'll still pay for it.

they were real big during Covid with the "drive by" birthday parties, thinned out a bit but there was one for some little Brexley in the 'hood a few days ago
Funny story. My son has the same birthday as a kid across the street. In May 2020, we had his party and his friends came over to spend the night (none of the parents, including us, gave AF about Covid) and we went and went fishing at the local park. Well, the same day, across the street, all that kid got was a bunch of damn cars honking at them.

How about a post that says, these signs are kind of silly. They sure aren’t for me.

My next door neighbor put one of these up to celebrate an adoption. The HOA board received complaints about it, and they had to take it down the next day. Paid like $200 to have it put up. I don't care for this stuff, but is it that big a deal to have up for a couple of days?

Of all of the things to call an HOA about if I lived in a neighborhood with one, this would be really low on the list. They’re usually out there for 3-4 days at most.
The neighbor put one up to celebrate receiving a cancer free diagnosis and a neighbor put a note on their door to complain about how it looked (same type of sign as OP). Some people are too fricking curmudgeonly for their own good.

It's a fricking genious buisness model. Buy/make a few yard sign letters that prob cost a few cents or few bucks to produce then charge people $100 over and over again with the same fricking inventory. I mean.. it looks tacky as frick...but its genious
