Post surgery I have taken very few if any of the pain meds they give me. Pain only hurts if you let it.

You'll probably get over a strep throat (although it has and does kill people). I happen to think getting over it in a few days with antibiotics is better than getting over it in two weeks without. But you do you dawg.

Was a teenager and tried to push through strep for a few days. Ended up waking up my parents and going to ER. Antibiotics helped within hours. Scary stuff.

I'm 76, pain free and drug free. Once I was prescribed vicodin after a dental procedure and chose not to take it. After a neck injury I took vicodin nightly for three months. It was a life saver that time.

I've learned to avoid prescription drugs if at all possible. Many drugs aggravate the problem that they were used for. Acid blockers, PPI drugs, are for GERD but reflux happens because the stomach isn't acidic enough.

I apparently had bad withdrawal from morphine after several surgeries a few decades ago, but I don’t remember since I was in a coma for all of them.

I weened off pretty quickly though, I have enough vices…

I was on heavy opioids after having 3 pins put in to repair a fractured femur a few years back, and they were fricking glorious. I was glad when the prescription ran out, I liked them way too much. Rode it out with shitloads of Advil from there on.

I'm curious because I'm very skeptical of the AMA and pharmaceutical industry. I don't take prescription meds, but I know there will be a day when the doc says .....or else.

You are a straight up idiot.

Two of my family members died from infections because they got antibiotics too late. There is a point of no return.

Did I mention you are an idiot?

When I had a kidney stone, this quack gave me a prescription that, he said, would make me get up and piss at night, so I would get thirsty and drink water, thus preventing more kidney stones.
I thought, "Hell, if all I have to go is drink more water, I'll just drink more water. I don't need this shite".

ivermectin is a pretty good drug for virus, bacteria and parasites. Used widely outside the us. Dosage rates are surprisingly small.

Your typical us doc will treat first for virus, wait several weeks and treat for bacteria , wait for two weeks and treat for parasites.y
