Homelessness is an issue that has always been prominent in our world. Many people don’t have a home because of an illness or because they lost their job. They have bad health and can’t start working, because of that they can’t pay for a doctor, so it’s a neverending loop.
Homeless people don’t have anywhere to go, so they sleep on the streets, covering themselves with newspapers or cardboard boxes, rummaging through the trash cans to find some food or warmer clothes.
This charity decided to help these unlucky people.
Seeing these horrible ‘living’ conditions, the Australian charity Beddown decided to help these people in need. They came up with an amazing idea to make shelters in places that are vacant at night – like parking lots! The organization asked one of the largest car park operators, Secure Parking, and they agreed to launch a two-week trial in Brisbane.

Here are some initial statistics after the first pilots and trials:
41 guests used Beddown over the duration of the pilot.
77% of them were male and 23% were female.
The guests rated the sleep 4.5 out of 5 and the beds 4.5 out of 5 on average.
100% of the guests said they felt safe during their stay.
Due to overcapacity, 9 people were turned away in one night.
The youngest person who tried to access Beddown was just 15 years old.

Coming from someone who did some work in a homeless shelter, I cannot imagine what goes on in this mother fricker. Lots of gay homeless men out there for whatever reason.

2 week trial... Lol
Any lot that does this long term will look like thunderdome in 3 months. They will set up their own class system and only the king hobos will be able to use the formal bathroom. The rest will shite and piss everywhere.

hey man, twenty dollars is twenty dollars. Doesn't make them gay

It's a really good idea. I just wonder how sustainable they could make it to wake everyone up in the morning and break everything down before people start coming to park.

Why does a parking garage have a bathroom with a shower and why is it so nice?

Almost all bums are homeless because they're addicts.
You do not invite them to your property like this. They will destroy it like animals.

Queen beds? That seems pretty uneconomical / wasteful.

You ever tried having homeless gay sex on a Single bed littered with used needles? Well let me tell you how difficult it was from personal experience

I like it. It conveniently corrals them all into one area for ICE to come search for illegals.

Used needles are the natural enemy of air mattresses.
They are homeless for a reason. Very seldom is it a good one. You give them nice things, all it does is incentivize that behaviour.
There’s a horror story waiting here though, where you let the homeless in for a clean bed and shower at night, and in the morning all the beds are empty..:
