Not a full week of school since before Christmas….not optimal for 2 parents that work from home. The good thing is childcare is taken care of, bad thing is my productivity is nil.

Make it a day to do something with your kids. You won’t regret it

Problem is it’s becoming routine and employers eventually get tired of the guy that isn’t in the office and cancels 6 hrs of meetings with less then one manana’s notice. Otherwise, I’d love to just hang out with my kids for the day.

A) I doubt you’re the only one experiencing this

B) even a cursory glance at the future weather would have avoided 2/3 days of cancellations

Eastbank of Jefferson had a major water main break. Our building’s property manager emailed late this afternoon asking tenants to stay out of our offices tomorrow unless absolutely essential because of low water pressure and concerns about possibly not being able to flush toilets until the parish fixed the broken main

ETA: what a shitshow. Just saw the WWL article that said all of the restrooms at the airport are closed. Imagine getting off a long flight and having to take a piss, only to have all the airport restrooms be closed

Talking to a couple of the other parents at my kids school and we looked back and noticed that since the week of 10/23, the only full week of school (including no 1/2 days) was the week of 12/4. And in 2 weeks they’ll have a week off of school for Mardi Gras

They have been cancelling school all the time where I live (I live right down the road from the school). Its's kinda maddening.

Oh please, it’s a considerably worse situation for people whom both parents work from the office
