MS Police Shooting Kills Child

quote:

A child died after an officer-involved shooting as what police say started as a shoplifting investigation at a Walmart.

The incident happened at about 2 p.m. Sunday at the store in Senatobia, Mississippi on U.S. 51.

Police said officers and the Tate County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of shoplifting at the local Walmart.

Mississippi Bureau of Investigation said when police arrived they found two people and and a child running out of the store into a car.

When police tried to stop the car, the driver allegedly tried to strike one of the police officers.

MSI said that's when an officer discharged their weapon and the driver fled.

The suspects then arrived to the hospital where the child died, another person had critical injuries.

No other information was available.

Quit shoplifting. And especially quit bringing your kids with you when you do it. This makes you no better than Hamas that used hospitals and schools as storage depots for missiles and munitions.

If it does, it will be because only "two people and and a child running out of the store into a car" will be reported, and then other fake details will be added to the story to push a narrative.

If people want to kick things off over thieves attempting to harm police officers and getting their kid killed in a dangerous escape attempt have at it.

We are either a nation of laws and accountability or we arent.

If their terms are no accountability or violence I hope the authorities show them accountability in spades.

Whether they charge the deputy is undeterminable at the moment but whatever adult was fleeing, definitely should be charged.

Why didn't he just shoot out the tires? Why are we worried about property, Walmart has insurance?

If Senatobia would just ignore shoplifting, like they do in so many lib cities, this would have never happened.

On a side note, every time I see Senatobia, I can't help but think of Kamala "the Ugandan Warrior" also known as James Arthur Harris.

This ain’t a few years ago. I think there probably isn’t as much money in rioting, especially in Mississippi.

I don’t think folks are ready to give millions to a movement that just perpetuates behavior most folks would rather do without.

Depending on the race of the cop, it might not matter what the vid shows to a certain sect of society.

I thought in these situations those parents or whoever they are could be charged with murder

Depending on what they stole (assuming they did indeed shoplift) and how much it's worth, they might be as many states have that law where if someone dies while you are committing a felony, you'll be charged with their death.

Not sure of specifics of Mississippi law, but felony murder rule could come in to play here and bite the parents.

Not sure stealing from a Wal-Mart is always going to be a felony or inherently dangerous though, depends on the facts.
