YouTube video: guy visits Natchitoches library; his white privilege is swiftly revoked.

I have no love of auditors, but nor do I hate them as some do, and I certainly feel no animosity towards those that mind their own business but do so with a camera or two.

But this is crazy level shite, to be arrested for simply visiting a library, explore it a bit, then be reported as "suspicious", as if there is any law on the books for that. But to then be railroaded out of a lawyer and by the judge? I swear I think only Louisiana contains the corruption required at every level for this guy to end up in jail.

And at the end of it ask this: what would be happening right now if the cops were white and the guy black?

You know. We all know.

Screw this guy. He's doing all he can to provoke in order to get "views" on his You Tube.

I know there are some dickheads on here who are anti-police. And I know not all cops are good.

But cops have much more to do than have to deal with an idiot, black or white, who is simply trying to cause an issue.

It's not all about views. They sue and get settlements everytime they are arrested or trespassed. Its common for them to get $20K, $60K, etc from it

Pretty sure he was arrested for refusing to identify himself. He just happened to be in a library when he chose not to identify himself…

Have we become Nazi Germany where cops can demand ID for just minding your own business in a public library?

There is no law requiring you to identify yourself, thus he was illegally arrested.

30 days in jail because he wouldn’t say his name!?! Very few of the looters during the summer of love spent that much time in jail

All he had to do was cooperate and he would've been left alone...

Screw him, he deserves what he got...

Should be clear by now it's almost all a Thin Blue Lyin'. What a joke of a judge and department.

LOL - he should’ve come to the library where I used to work, he would’ve been ignored

Anyway, if he was pulling on doors and if he was asked if he needed help and said no (because the librarian could’ve been lying) - that is a little suspicious especially with all those backpacks. And some libraries you do have to get permission to record because there might be kids in there.

But at least he didn’t piss in the elevator or whip out his penis. If he didn’t have incidents like this he wouldn’t have a YouTube channel.

Plus he should be arrested just because of the way the narrator pronounced ‘Natchitoches’

In some situations, you are legally required to, in others you are not. The judge found he this was a situation that he was required to.

There are practical ways to deal with cops and there are legal ways. Lawyering a cop is often a bad idea if your intent is not to get hauled in and booked. My opinion looking at this was the person made a point to provide a murky situation that he knew had a decent chance of him being arrested. He likely got exactly what he wanted up until the sentence but he will continue to work the angles like his gofundme. These types of schemes remind me of the disabled guy that went around to hotels in FL with the express intent to sue them when they did not have the pool lift mandated by the 2010 ADA regs. He may have caped his actions in the greater good but it was just a publicity and money grab.

No need to be Obtuse1 here, the law is clear: you only have to identify if the cops suspect you of a crime.

And the travesty isn't really him getting hauled in, as that happens pretty regularly. It's that the charges were not only pushed forward but a judge convicted on them.

I'm not sure that's true in Louisiana.

They cited a clause in the video, and I seem to recall a case where a passenger in a car was arrested for not showing ID, and upon appeal, the court sided with the arrest, or something along those lines.

That dude is freaking creepy as hell and obviously asking for trouble. He wasn’t acting innocent or even willing to identify himself or what his purpose was in the library. Maybe he shouldn’t have been arrested, but I have no problem with them kicking him out for being an idiot and trying to stir up shite.
