Went to 303 Jefferson a couple Friday nights ago—that place is really good. They were having some kind of music festival downtown. It’s a great area

People talk smack about NOLA, but we don't have these kinds of activists.

We don't have a Chukwe (or however you spell the Jackson mayor name), we don't have a Gravy, or Helmet Head, or a Quannel The Tenth, or any of that.

About the only thing we have is the guy from Take Em Down NOLA, and no one pays him any attention.

Remember, the only person that cared about taking the statues down was a white mayor who thought it would give him hood points, but the hood didn't care.

I would say the last racist activist person we had here was Sandra Wheeler Hester, and that was before Katrina, and after she ended up in prison for school board corruption, we don't hear from her anymore.

Are there any parts of Jackson you think are nice? My son looked at a job at Mississippi College a couple years ago. How far is that?

MC is in Clinton, right next to Jackson. Clinton’s not bad at all. The surrounding cities of Pearl, Brandon, Flowood, and Madison are pretty good.

North Jackson used to be really nice. But you couldn’t pay me to live in the city of Jackson any more.

Jackson and Shreveport could trade cultured citizens and no one would know the difference.

Dude seems alright. Just wants to smoke and doesn’t want all his hard earned money to go towards a $600 water bill. Plus he thinks Jackson should dig it’s own well and maybe he’s right.

And something about the VA killing blacks people, I think. He kinda lost me at that point.

Clinton is well removed from what you'd consider "the city of Jackson". Seriously a hidden gem, it's great.

Haven't told them I now take photos of my meter as I come and go too. One day I'll just serve them with small claims notice and then start a class action.

You read about the guy who is taking his isp to court? They billed him for “overages” on his data cap, he said no way, they said he had to pay. He went out of town for work for a few weeks and unplugged his cable from the wall ... they still “showed” data usage on his bill.

If he starts a class action I’ll get in on that. Just had a very similar argument with Cox.

mean, $600 is a high arse water bill
Any of y’all remember when parts of Manhattan changed to some quirky “block billing” for the water? They didn’t want to read individual meters anymore so they read the main meter for an entire block and gave people bills on what they “probably” used based on that locations history. Apart from that being ripe for corruption, they only adjusted your expected usage once a year; so when some old boy moved his IT business into a location that previously housed a dry cleaner, he was getting water bills for $10-20k per month.

He complained and they told him they’d make adjustments to his bill and issue credit when his block was scheduled for readjustment in several months but that he’d have to keep paying the bills between now and then.

(Side note: these are the same people who want to fully manage your healthcare and retirement. )

Clinton has some ok areas. No different than Pearl. Not a hidden gem at all. Clinton probably has more crime than any of the other Jackson metro cities.
