Your question has nothing to do with my statement. Strawman bullshite.

Sure it does
So I'll answer for you: it has no impact.
We can move on.
Why would a bat that may give you 1-2% performance bonus in a worthless competition (in terms of scouting) help someone get noticed?

Even an average baseball player will get a look at by small colleges but you may have to move away from home and have good enough grades too.
The weather’s gonna suck there… at that point you may as well just be a normal student down South

You are far beyond your element bro. I can’t imagine what you think you know about bats.

If you know so much then answering this question should be easy.
Why would a bat that may give you 1-2% performance bonus in a worthless competition (in terms of scouting) help someone get noticed?

What bats do you suppose that elite players be swinging? You think there are $50 bats they can go buy and then swing thousands of times in practice and cages and lessons? You can find deals. You can find dealers that have discounts but msrp $350-$500 bats are a norm. I have no idea what you think you are arguing.
And yes, small % of bat performances matter big time in games. A $100 bat is literal trash.

Sure. Like I said the improvement is marginal, and it only impacts the stats at worthless competitions.

It's the norm in a market that is completely irrational. We're educating you on how it's irrational.
You listened to charlatans who profit off the cognitive dissonance they so clearly have created in your head (and the head of countless other parents fueling the machine).

You made a bad point. In response to someone who was actually recruited for D2 sports.
Here is a quote of your words
quote:
Congrats on your athletic success. That’s cool. But you also played sports that “tools” didn’t matter.
I'm explaining to you why those words are so bad.

And yes, small % of bat performances matter big time in games.
I covered that.

1-2% performance bonus in a worthless competition (in terms of scouting)
Arguing success in worthless tournaments is a different argument than discussing getting scouted for college, but I understand why someone who has bought into the charade thinks they're the same thing.

Bro, you have zero clue what you are talking about with bats and making up shite about what you think the performance benefits are. Not wasting my time during an lsu game arguing with you about bats that knows nothing.

She made an asinine point disparaging the use of “$400” bats when she played sports requiring no such tools.

And you've yet to give any sort of argument why that level of tool is needed for recruitment, even when I've shown you why it's not.
You have given absolutely no defense of your point, and even pivoted from scouting to in-game performance (which is worthless for a discussion about scouting/recruitment)
Posted on 10/10/26 at 7:30 pm to SlowFlowPro
You made up something. That’s not proving anything. There are vast reasons why bat matters. You aren’t even close to even understanding what makes the better bats better.

Not for scouting/recruitment.
I said they can give a marginal improvement for improving performance in worthless games. That was incorporated in the question you avoided answering.
I'll post it again:

I understand why they provide a very slight improvement for performance in worthless games. That has nothing to do with a discussion about scouting/recruitment.
The issue, as I have posted, is that you seem to think there is an alignment and that's part of the cognitive dissonance being discussed in this thread.

Only you are trying to make up this angle of an argument. Her asinine comment was about kids needing $400 bats.

Why are games worthless? What improvement exactly are you saying it gives? Can you point me in the direction of said bats you deem cheap enough that are good enough?
Only you keep talking about scouting like it was at all relevant to a conversation you are knighting for. She ain’t sucking your small dick.

In a point about its impact on scouting/recruitment
quote:
Why are games worthless?
No scout worth his/her salt would care or not take equipment into account when evaluating the player.
quote:

For bats? Speed, sweet spot size, "pop" etc.
All artificial compared to what matters (physical tools and skills, to a lesser extent)

She literally discusses it in her post
quote:
But to go even further I played travel ball in HS (soccer and basketball). I got recruited to play D-II in soccer and NAIA in basketball. But it was an affordable option for my family (and no I didn’t grow up with money) where I was able to fundraise for travel costs and uniforms. I didn’t need a $400 bat to get noticed and we weren’t playing travel ball until high school.
Nowhere did she reference improvement in play in worthless tournaments and showcases

How many kids are in travel ball not because the kids enjoy it, but because the parents are attempting to live vicariously through the kid, and need an entity to foot their kid's college education?
My BIL was in travel baseball. He was an average player. His mom did it for reasons outside of college scholarships. He admitted ten years later that he along with a teammate would throw games to end the weekend tournaments early. He liked travel ball at first but wound up hating it.

She played soccer and basketball. Why would she need a $400 bat? It was the most asinine and ignorant comment ever. She needed footwear and shin guards.

When you hear the "they like it" comments, it's always fun to ask what other ECs the parents tried with the kids, prior to sports.
And I am a big believer in sports for kids, just not travel sports.

There is equipment in soccer and basketball that can give minimal impact on performance in those sports, too.
And I have explained to you why that improvement in performance is worthless for scouting/recruitment.
