This 1000% … it’s their only way out and it’s hard to compete .

Go look at the baseball cards of Dominicans, Cubans and PR’s.. they can barely sign their name . Why ?? Because school is an afterthought . In the US , school is a way of life . Baseball is the only way off the island .

A good friend of mine played minor league ball and told me they would teach the Latin players how to write on the long bus trips

Did a lot of kids end up JUCO or D2? Sure....but that's the reality awaiting almost every kid at the end of high school.

More of these JUCOs are getting filled up with kids named Juan and Javier that used busted equipment on some shitty public field in the hood or a foreign country. Newsflash: your thousands of dollars invested in Brooks and Brixtyn are wasted once some Latino kid rinses him while wearing some shoes that are too small and a homemade glove.

Coaches took years of their money instead of being honest with them.

This.

It’s become a business and the coach isn’t going to be honest with the parent forking over thousands of dollars for coaching.

Oh yes. Little Tommy had potential. Swipe credit card here mom.

?? Percent of High School Boys Who Reach Division I
• Football: 3.4%
• Baseball: 2.7%
• Basketball: 1.1%
These numbers are consistent across multiple NCAA releases (2022–23 and 2024–25), with only minor year-to-year variation.

My son never played travel baseball, but he did play in a very well run rec league, and later on his high school team. The best little league rec team he was on produced one JUCO baseball player, three smaller school D1 baseball players, and an SEC basketball player (white kid). My son was a scholarship clay target shooter in college.

Half the kids on that team played scholarship college sports of some type.

So you’re against kids having $400 bats?

I'm against any baseball bat costing $400.00

Unless its made out of solid platinum or diamonds or something.

Call me a communist, but that's just wrong.
