seeing areas in BR already at 5-6 inches

I live south of LSU off River Road. I’m not sure how many inches of rain we’ve gotten but it’s been a lot. I’m sure they have that area on Burbank close to Walk-On’s blocked. Brightside is probably flooded and I know the Acadian underpass is closed. We have what looks like used to be a small lake in the complex that never has water but is almost completely full.

My kid has to get from knock knock to the interstate. Do y’all think that area will be an issue?

The good news is the lake behind our house has finally crested. The bad news is we didn’t have a lake behind our house yesterday.

That stretch of Burbank is closed off. Drove by about an hr ago and there was a car submerged in probably close to 3’ of water. Up to the windows.

We’ve gotten a lot of rain today, but nowhere near 2021.

2021 was nonstop storming for hours. This is a lot of rain, but so far only really bad for a short period of time this morning.

I’m in old Jefferson. Had to go unclog the leaves from my front yard gutter, water was creeping up to front of my house. Thankfully the intensity has slacked off, it was coming down pretty hard earlier.

Weather Underground wundermap
It compiles all the local PWS into an interactive map

Shouldn’t be but that is dependent on where you’re coming from.

The biggest problem with the wunderground wundermap is that while it’s a fantastic idea to be able to see local personal weather stations, there’s absolutely nothing to verify how / where any of them are installed. I’ve seen pws rain gauges installed where the rainfall just shoots into it off a roof. Same applies to poor choices for the temperature gauge. They may serve a purpose to get a general idea but there’s often a bunch of anomalies due to shitty location choices by the folks linking them.
